I haz a blog!

You don't see too many people starting first-time blogs in 2013.  I always resisted the temptation because I knew it wouldn't take long for me to say something to piss someone off.  But I already do that on Facebook -- and in real life -- so that excuse is no longer valid.

So why now?  Basically, I just need a repository for some of my longer-form expositions.  I find Facebook a great place for micro-blogging, but the tools/reach for that platform are limited.

There are a few topics I plan to cover here, starting tomorrow.  My first piece will be on the topic of internet privacy, or more specifically, the arms race underway to eliminate personal privacy on the internet.  It will include an analysis I've been noodling on for a while, addressing the issue from a purely economic standpoint.  I'll also posit one potential solution based on this analysis.

Future topics will include General Systems Theory, which informs my world view, and a new approach to comprehensive identity management.

I hope this blog will be interesting and entertaining to readers.  I've configured initial comment settings to be wide open, to encourage free interaction.  That said, I reserve the right to delete (or mock) anything kooky.

Thanks for stopping by!
